The Savannah Regional Sports Committee has been inaugurated with a 7-member committee at Damongo, the regional capital on Friday August 20, 2021.
The committee which was appointed by the Regional Minister in consultation with the Savannah Regional Sports Authority per the Sports Act, 2016 (Act 934) is made up of Mr Adam Alhassan as Chairman, Mr Ibrahim Alhassan Jihad as Secretary ( Savannah Regional Director, NSA), and Madam Huzeifa Yussif as a member
The rest of the members are Mr Iddrisu Sumani Mohammed – Member,
Iddi Abubakari – East Gonja Rep,
Francis McCoy Yeboah – Bole Rep , and Alhassan Siisu – North Gonja Rep.
The Regional Coordinating Director, Mr Yaw Adu- Asamoah on behalf of the regional minister sworn the new Executives into office and tasked them to work assiduously to discover talents in the region.
Speaking on behalf of the executives, chairman of the committee, Mr. Adam Alhassan thanked the regional minister Hon. Saeed Muhazu Jibril for the confidence repose in them and assured him of their commitment to work extra harder to develop and promote sports in the region.
He hinted on how the committee intends to explore the region to discover talents in the various disciplines.
Mr Adam solicited the support and cooperation of all stakeholders to achieve their goals.
The committee shall be in office for the next four (4) years.
The ceremony took place in the Conference Hall of the SRCC on Friday 20th August, 2021 in Damongo, the regional capital.
