The Switzerland Ambassador to Ghana; H. E. Simone Ginger paid a working visit to Savannah Region on Monday 20th November 2023 as part of her tour of some parts of Northern Ghana.
As part of her visit, she called on the Savannah Regional Minister, Hon. Saeed Muhazu Jibril at the office of the Savannah Regional Coordinating Council. Among others, the two parties discussed the laudable bilateral relationship that exists between Switzerland and the Republic of Ghana. Hon. Jibril commended the Swiss Government for being a staunch development partner over the years. He expressed a hearty gratitude for the massive investment in health, water, education, and sanitation through the District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT) and District Assembly Common Fund (DACF).
Hon. Jibril further made a plea to the Ambassador to consider the possibility of removing the restrictions regulating the assessment and disbursement of the DPAT and DACF intervention programs to create a leveled play ground for beneficiaries and possible beneficiaries to access the program across the country.
H. E. Simone Ginger revealed the commitment of thirty million Euros over a period of four years to assist the Government of Ghana through DPAT and DACF intervention programs. She visited the Compost Recycling Plant, the Municipal Library, Girls Model School and the newly constructed TVET School which are all benefactors of the Switzerland government’s development partnership projects with the Government of Ghana.
