Damongo, Savannah Region – Zoomlion Ghana Limited, along with its subsidiaries and key partners, successfully organized a peace procession in Damongo on November 28, 2024, promoting peace and unity in the lead-up to, during, and after Ghana’s upcoming elections.
The event brought together staff from various Zoomlion entities, including the Damongo Integrated Recycling and Compost Plant (IRECOP), SIP personnel, and sanitation guards. Representatives from the Savannah Regional Security Services and local media also attended, underscoring the procession’s peaceful and impactful nature.
Pastor Kenneth Kwakye Marfo, the Damongo District Minister, emphasized the dual significance of the event. “As we walked and shared the Word, many hearts were touched. At the same time, we were engaging in physical exercise, which is essential for our well-being,” he remarked, highlighting the spiritual and physical benefits.
The procession, which included moments of prayer and thanksgiving, served as a crucial platform to encourage Ghanaians to uphold peace and unity. Salisu Abdul Mubarik, Savannah Regional Coordinator of Zoomlion Ghana Limited, passionately urged participants, “Ghana is the only country we have, and the Savannah Region is our home. Let us maintain the peace we enjoy.”
Mr. Isaac Bakuoro Suutonee, Operations Manager for Damongo IRECOP, explained that the event is an annual tradition for Zoomlion to express gratitude for divine blessings. “This year’s Thanksgiving is unique. It is a moment to reflect on how far God has brought us and to commit ourselves to peace and prosperity,” he stated.
Beyond thanksgiving, the program reinforced Zoomlion’s commitment to peaceful elections. Participants were encouraged to vote early, avoid provocative behavior, and celebrate results with moderation. Mr. Mubarik reiterated, “Where there is peace, there is development and prosperity. Let us be peace-loving people.”
The peace procession concluded with heartfelt prayers for the nation, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, and its leadership. Participants expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to contribute to a peaceful electoral process.
This event further solidifies Zoomlion Ghana Limited’s dedication to environmental sustainability, community development, and social harmony, demonstrating its role as a corporate leader committed to peace and progress in Ghana.
